Zetor Engineering Slovakia, a.s. sees participation in DSEI as a great prestige and opening doors to new markets as well. While the project has so far been presented at exhibitions focusing primarily on the markets of the EU and NATO member countries, in London are scheduled interviews with partners and potential buyers from other continents and territories.
“Apart from Slovakia, Gerlach has already presented himself at fairs in Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Poland, where we also participate in the competition for vehicle renewal under the Pegaz program. However, the project has also aroused interest in other markets, and expert feedback assures us that the vehicle is competitive globally. In London, therefore, we want to approach potential partners and customers from other countries, “said the company’s sales director, Juraj Palko.
The ATV ZETOR GERLACH 4×4, a new generation tactical armored vehicle. Its development took into account the latest technological and design requirements for a vehicle of this category, as well as knowledge of the latest armed conflicts in the world, in particular, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Ukraine. In terms of dimensions and overall construction, it is also ready to meet the new requirements that will bring decades to come.
Its off-road capabilities are ensured by the special ZETOR Rolling Chassis design with maximum adhesion to the surface in all conditions, as well as a robust 1300 Nm torque. The vehicle easily overcomes trenches with a width of 1 m and terrain stairs with a height of 0.5 m.
Protecting lives as the top priority
The portal frame concept of the chassis is also able to withstand high dynamic effects and is one of the main pillars of anti-mine protection. The cabin is designed as an armored safety capsule resistant that can accommodate up to 6 crew members. The capsule is attached independently of the chassis, so if it is damaged by a mine, the crew will be protected.
The safety of the crew is also supported by additional modular armor along with a separate and suspended floor and anti-mine “V” shields.
The roof of the vehicle can be fitted with mechanical or remote-controlled machine-gun turrets, anti-tank guided missiles, mortars or grenade launchers.
